Arthur Childs was one of the founding directors of Arch Financial Planning Limited when it commenced trading in 2003. Prior to that he had been the principal (since 1989) and then the senior partner (since 2001) of the independent financial advice firm which evolved into the present company.

Arthur is a Certified Financial Planner and a Chartered Financial Planner and holds fellowships of the Chartered Insurance Institute, the Personal Finance Society and the Pensions Management Institute.

Before setting up his own IFA business in 1989 Arthur had held management positions with Imperial Life Assurance Company of Canada, Crown Life, Prime Health and Municipal Mutual Insurance.

Thanks to Arthur's keen interest in the company's online presence, regularly talking to journalists, writing articles for the financial press and making videos, Arch Financial planning Limited has a high profile within the IFA/financial planning world.

Arthur is qualified to advise on all aspects of personal financial planning, from savings and investments to pensions, life assurance, estate planning and long term care.

Arthur's wife and eldest daughter are also directors of the business. He has two other daughters (one is a Community Nurse and the other works for a charity in Central Asia), three sons'-in-law and three granddaughters.
A member of Guildford Baptist Church (known as 'Millmead'), Arthur was for 14 years the leader of the NewFocus group which particularly seeks to meet the needs of retired and semi-retired people. He is now its Honorary President.
Arthur is an avid eBayer and enjoys purchasing anything online, from printer toners for the company to weekend breaks.
